Arthur Mahuma

Arthur Khomotso Mahuma is an Economist and Researcher at the Centre for Competition, Regulation and Economic Development (CCRED) based at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa. He is part of CCRED’s initiative called the African Market Observatory (AMO), which seeks to understand the market dynamics of agrifood system in Southern and Eastern Africa. This is done by monitoring prices and conducting research across different supply chains within and across national borders.
He has more than 10 years’ experience in competition economics across a range of sectors, including telecommunications, food and agro processing, energy and digital platforms. He was previously a Senior Economist at the Competition Commission of South Africa. He holds a Masters in Development Economics from the University of Johannesburg.
