Todd Rosenstock
Director
Dr. Todd Rosenstock is the Director of CGIAR Climate Action. He leads global partnerships that connect science, innovation, and real-world action to help transform food, land, and water systems in response to climate change. His focus is making sure research actually turns into results that benefit farmers, policymakers, and investors.
Before this role, he was a Principal Scientist at the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, working on climate adaptation, data-driven decision-making, and mitigation in agriculture and agroforestry. He led initiatives like Adaptation Insights and the Africa Agriculture Adaptation Atlas to support countries in identifying climate risks and planning effective responses.
Earlier, Todd spent almost ten years at World Agroforestry (ICRAF) in Nairobi and Kinshasa, studying how smallholder farming and environmental change affect each other. He also contributed to CGIAR’s CCAFS program, helping scale low-emission, climate-resilient agriculture.
He has over 15 years of experience working across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, and contributed to the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report. Todd holds a PhD in Ecology and an MSc in International Agricultural Development from the University of California, Davis.
