Paul Abayomi Soremi

Ph.D (Crop Physiology) candidate and Lecturer at the Department of Plant Physiology and Crop Production

Mr. Paul A. Sobowale SOREMI is a Ph.D (Crop Physiology) candidate and Lecturer at the Department of Plant Physiology and Crop Production, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, (FUNAAB), Ogun State, Nigeria. His research focuses on developing climate-smart agricultural practices particularly in rice-based systems and farmer-led innovations for sustainable agriculture practices with expertise in enhancing crop resilience, improving nutrient use efficiency and mitigating greenhouse emissions in cropping systems. A recipient of the prestigious New Phytologist travel grant, A.G. Leventis–Egba Scholarship and the CLIFF-GRADS Scholarship, amongst others. His experience includes conducting research at the International Centre for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), Colombia. He is passionate about translating research into practical solutions for sustainable food production in tropical agro-ecologies.

He is involved in mentoring the next generation of agricultural scientists and have supervised numerous undergraduate students (34 as at date) projects; and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications (29 as at date) in reputable journals and has presented his works at national and international conferences. He holds membership of some professional bodies and actively engages in extension and community development, providing training on good agricultural practices to farmers and extension officers.
