Chief Scientist, Vice President of Research
Dr. Zach Stewart is the Vice President of Research and Chief Scientist for the International Fertilizer Development Center. He leads a team of international scientists and practitioners developing fertilizer technologies and improving soil health in smallholder farming systems as the foundation for productive, profitable, sustainable, and nutritious food systems.
Prior to his work at IFDC, Dr. Stewart was the Senior Global Food Security Advisor at USAID where he led a $500M portfolio of R&D investments across sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia. He also served as a Research Assistant Professor at Kansas State University with the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Collaborative Research on Sustainable Intensification.
