The sustainable livestock theme explores how livestock systems can be transformed to be climate-smart. It spotlights innovations that balance productivity, adaptation, mitigation, and animal health—tailored to diverse farming systems and contexts across the Global South.
THEMATIC SESSION 3:
Sustainable Livestock
Innovation Track
South-South Learning for Sustainable Livestock Futures
Session Overview:
Join us for interactive sessions that brings together policymakers, researchers, and practitioners. Through a strong focus on South–South learning, participants will explore real-world examples of innovation bundling—integrated strategies that address multiple goals simultaneously, such as adaptation, mitigation, and animal health—designed to be adaptable across different scales and settings.

Enabling factors and pathways for adoption
From vaccines to virtual fencing, innovations in animal health and management are transforming livestock’s climate footprint. This session explores how “bundling” solutions ( combining productivity, adaptation, and mitigation) can unlock win-wins across scales. Participants will help identify trade-offs, synergies, and pathways to scale these bundled solutions across diverse farming systems.
